Jon Risch Belden 89259 Speaker Cables

Guys...

I plan to build a set of the Jon Risch Belden 89259 speaker cables.

one question: Jons recipe calls for heat shrink tubing to hold the two cables (per speaker) together. I'd like to know if I could use plastic cable ties instead, as I have thousands of tie wraps laying around.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I emailed Jon but did not get a reply, as of yet anyway.

I would think the plastic zip ties should work. The idea is to keep the cables from moving.
