I'm looking for a multiplex adapter to use with a Scott tuner. Could anyone make a recommendation, or pass along their experiences?
Thank-you,
Fred

LM4500 chip is a good sounding option

Richard is spot on.
Other brands of mpx will not work with the scotts. The output from the scott mpx is smaller than the fishers, sherwoods, pilots etc. There is not enough gain to properly operate.
You can make your own as Eli suggests, and that would be the cheapest solution.
The Scott 335 and kit model are likely going to cost you more than your tuner.
You can listen in mono very well.
I had a 310B and LM335 which I foolishly sold and then picked up a extremely good condition LT10, mono. Tried it with a pilot mpx and found out the problems.

Thank-you everyone.
I bought a Scott 335 based on the responses. Amplifier and preamp are tube and have been listening to a T-100 Accuphase which I have had for a long time and do like. Scott tube tuner is an experiment and although a SS multiplexer makes a lot of sense, thought I would try entire tube route first.
I will post my impressions, but it will be a bit before the components arrive.

Can you sling solder? DIYer extraordinaire Steve Bench has provided us with an excellent option, other than something "vintage".
You may have to JFET buffer the tubed tuner's O/P.
BTW, Mr. Bench is a BIG TIME "tube head". Don't worry about the "sand".

by a mile. Tubes are not always best.
Not sure I agree solid state wins. Now have Scott 310D with 335 multiplex adapter to compare with Accuphase T-100. It isn't a clear choice, sound is different, I like them both.
I wouldn't be surprised if SS wins. This is something I wanted to try for myself. I listen to classical, most of the time at low levels. And with some things, that makes a difference.
Sherwood units are quite good. Also, EICO with a good going through.
Hi, Fred:
INHO, the Scott Model 335 adapter is the one to use.
You can try a number of other vintage adapters, but from my personal experience, the Scott 335 or its kit-version variant, are the appropriate ones to use with a Scott piece.
I have owned seveal Fisher adapters and used them with not only monaural Fisher tuners, but Scott tuners as well, however, I not think much of the Fisher units I happened to own at the time and it was YEARS AGO, mind you!
Of course, all of this depends on condition of both the tuner and the adapter.
