Looks like the EL506 are not the same as 7868 according to this post:

It's also curious that the photo at RadioMuseum.org (posted OCT 2009) appears to be a small portion of the first ebay photo:

it does that link to Ebay but the sellers name (Wonderco),is still written under it.
They can be inserted into a 7868 socket, but because the pins are slightly larger, they will stretch out the contacts making NOS 7868's fit loosely from then on.
I started a similar thread a while back and was told that I would need an adapter to use them. I was also told unlike the concensus here that they were not really equivalent to 7868s. I would have bought a lot of them if they were the real deal,
I use a Sherwood integrated and currently a Fisher 400 both use 7868 tubes. I have a bunch of of used GE 7868s I bought when I was asleep at the wheel, I need to separate the decent tubes from the bad as they are all used. The black plated RCA is some kind of unicorn these days I would love trying them.
