Good morning,
I would like to know if there is a direct, drop in replacement without rewiring for the 6SF5. Thanks.

You can use 6F5 but you will need to make an adaptor.
Thanks ksk, where would I find an adaptor ?
You would have to buy an Octal base and an Octal socket and wire your own. The 6F5 has a cap so it would probably not be worth the effort as the 6SF5 tubes don't seem too hard to find or expensive
No direct plug & play replacements. It is a high gain tube from way back. I have built a 9 pin to octal adapter & used 1/2 of a 12AX7 in the past. I like the 6SF5 in guitar amps & the Brimar CV4004 or Mullard long plate 12AX7 for home entertainment amps.
Thanks Neff for your help.
