In Reply to: RE: New production tubes: How do you NOS/NIB/used old tube owners react? posted by Frihed89 on March 13, 2011 at 00:00:51
I'm glad they are getting better so as to have a less expensive alternative. I had a 60's Mazda chrome quit on me in a preamp. To buy a replacement was $80-100 so I settled for a pair of Mullard re-issues. No they might not be as good but the difference wasn't worth the money to me. At some point in our audio addiction we have to come to a compromize in money spent vs small improvements in sound.
BTW I have 1 Mazda Chrome 12ax7 for sale if anyone needs one.:-)

"What did the Romans ever do for us?"
They didn't have them when I ordered or I would have considered them. I ended up getting them from Doug's Tubes who was cheaper than anyone else.
If you pull the trigger let us know how they are. Most NOS are getting too high even thought they are usually better. The rising quality of the re-issues is great for us.
