yup--my point was just because a tube is marked GT Brtian doesn't necessarily mean it was manufactured there.

Very true.What they may have done to get away with saying GT Britain on the tubes is to take the words, (made in) off.This way it just looks like the company's HQ location.

Diversity of opinions on any one technical subject,almost always causes confusion for the listener.
