WARNING--I am NOT a golden-eared audiofile; sometimes I feel more like a tin-eared audiofool...BUT..I try to keep my mind and ears open, so FWIW...

It sounds to me like you got a pretty good ear.Of course I happen to like SC plats and Jupiters and AQ ICs so I might be a little biased.Anyway,didn't you a multi driver homebrew set of speakers you had built?I seem to remember the beautiful craftsmanship in those and Gary was showing them to me.
Diversity of opinions on any one technical subject,almost always causes confusion for the listener.

...but last summer I decided I did not have the emotional and physical energy to build good-looking ones, so I bought the Avantis. That purchase instigated a serious upgrading of lots of pieces of my system.
