The Bendix 6080 with graphite plates and ceramic base is worthy of an honorable mention. It sounds distinct from the 6AS7G and other 6080 in the two headphone amps I owned. More detail, better bass, retains liquid mids. A great tube. I liken it to the 5992 from Bendix as a 'super' 6V6G, where the former just gets it 'righter' than the standard 6V6G. Based on construction, the Bendix 6080 it looks like it would last a lifetime. The GEC 6080 is also excellent and I feel a step up from US made 6080. The RCA 6AS7G and Bendix 6080 lead their categories--for the most part, with the Bendix the 'better' contender--to my ear, in my systems, of course.
Generally, I agree with all Skylab says. Thanks.
