I hope you're not comparing the transfer characteristic curves for a 6v6 in triode,
With the plate curves of the 6l6 in triode,
They are two different things and can not be compared directly.
I don't have the transfer characteristic curves for a 6l6 in triode and they haven't been posted on this thread.
What you can compare is the above plate curves for a 6l6 in triode to these plate curves for a 6v6 in triode.

I was speaking extemporaneously from memory.
Many people are aware of what I just said.
"Both are good . However, the 6V6 family is EXTRAORDINARILY linear, when trode wired. Triode wired 6V6 family tubes yield nothing to the REVERED 6SN7, in the linearity dept. Check the curves out."

I'm not as hung on using them in triode as Poinz. But go look at the plate curves of a 6V6 in triode. Gaaah! They're simply gorgeous!! Why this tube isn't used for audio more than it is boils down to the generalizations about "guitar" vs. "audio" tubes.
Poinz and I definitely agree on something else too - the current crop of 6V6 is VERY good! The Tung-Sol reissues kill, and the EH are right there too."

"simply gorgeous" compared to what?
Certainly not this.

Or this.

I'm having a hard time understand why anyone would call these "simply gorgeous".

If you can and are willing, please explain it to me.
Thanks.
P.S. Please read the post linked.

Gee, you will have to take that up with Jim McShane, Although I agree with him.
I already made mention how linear DHT's are.
In my opinion a 45 blows away a 2A3.
You should strive to read more closely.
