Since this past weekend, the POP3/SMTP server of the email address I originally used here has been having problems, so I decided to use a different email address as part of my membership here (kept my same moniker; just changed email address). I went through all the steps, including the "confirmation", updating "system", etc.
Now, when I receive post notifications and/or private email messages from fellow inmates (sent through the online interface), I receive email coming into both accounts (old and new)...seemingly at random in terms of which one will be used for any particular message.
Why is this happening?
Thanks!

It's probably old responses to old posts that come to the old email address. That will go away after that post is over 30 days old. The issue is that the auto-notification of replies is old code from prior to switching the site over to using a database; therefore, it just puts the current email address in a file and uses that file to find it when there's a response. It was a simple implementation though not the most robust.
