I WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT THESE WERE BRITISH MADE SPEAKERS, NOT THE CASE, THEY ARE MADE IN CHINA. I TOOK THEM BACK AFTER TWO DAYS OF USE. I WISH THEY SOUND AS GOOD AS THEY LOOK. THEY DIDN'T SOUND BAD AT LOWER POWER LEVELS, BUT THEY BROKE UP BAD AT HIGHER, NOT UNREASONABLE, POWER LEVELS. THE MIDRANGE HONKED, DROWNED OUT THE BASS AND HIGHS. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DUE TO NEEDING BROKE IN, HOWEVER, THE CONDITION WAS STIL PRESENT AFTER EIGHT HOURS OF BREAK IN TIME. DURING AN EXPLOSION WHILE WATCHING A MOVIE, ONE OF THE WOOFERS VOICE COIL WAS SLAPPING THE MAGNET. THE SPEAKER WAS DESTROYED. I REMOVED THE WOOFER TO CHECK IT OUT. THE BASKET AND MAGNET ASSEMBLY WERE VERRY CHINCEY LOOKING. LUCKY FOR ME MY DEALER TOOK THEM BACK AND LET ME EXCHANGE THEM FOR A DIFFERENT PRODUCT, WHARFEDALES WEB SITE OR BROSCHURES DON'T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT A WARRANTY, SOMETHING I DIDN'T CHECK ON BEFORE I PURCHASED.

these speaker's are designed in the U.K.,and manufactured in China to keep cost down.I also think that your amp was at fault for blowing your speakers. What happened was you had the volume up so high that when that big explosion came your amp could'nt take it and it clipped blowing your speakers. What is the power rating of your amp(To little power too much volume is a speakers worse enemy)
This and other comments on these and my experience with the Diva 2.1 suggests that the Chinese have the basics of design and manufacturing well in hand, but the detailed design tweaks that make the difference between mediocre and great sound that experienced designers use aren't there yet. It's only a matter fo time, IMHO.
Dude,
The Swan Diva's are made in China but they seem to have great reviews and are even compared to the likes of B&W......Not all Chinese Made is Crap....
These models are chinese made but use British design team.
True, but......when I listened to the Pi-40s I was astonished by the poor performance. I though it was the pair in the store but a friend listened elsewhere an confirmed it.
I also listened to the Pi-30 sounded okay. Far better than the 40.
I agree, but I find the Pi-20 to sound better than them all
Yeah I found that, more coherent. Less range though.I just seems like the crossovers or drivers are sub standard - For a speaker at any price.
