Tannoy 15's are the reference speakers Pass uses to evaluate his amp designs.. 'nuff said.
as evaluation "tools" used by multiple Pass Labs personnel, not the best sounding. Much like studio monitors to quickly reveal flaws. Advance to about 5:00.

Well beyond Mr. Pass' genius in electronics and sound contributions
to the world, he seems like one of the most genuinely nice, gracious
and interesting people around.
Obviously someone that has achieved greatness at what he does and
seems to truly appreciate and ENJOY it along with the rich and fulfilling
life that accompanies it.
Though never seeking them out I always love viewing any YT vid he's in.
He's always having FUN and is just plain cool!!!!
Crimony, I'm a fan and have never even heard a piece of Pass gear...

Back in the mid-'70s there was a new audio store in San Diego -- Audio Directions -- which featured a good number of top level components. The owners began inviting designers from many of those manufacturers to come speak at meetings open to their customers. Among the long list who responded was Nelson Pass.
Not only was he obviously an impressive designer, he could explain his concepts in ways even electronic dullards such as myself could understand. But even more impressive, he was humble and gracious. He never bad-mouthed his competitors, instead he simply stated why he considered his approach to offer the best solution. Obviously that was a long time ago but he made a lasting impression.

L300s, oh my.
one of many truly devoted designers in the business.
I owned one of his Threshold amps for decades. Never had any troubles, either.
