Supposedly some company is asking $100,000 for a pair of 2-way standmounted monitors.

But I assume that your budget is below $20,000.

The question is, how far below?

  OK, there's a well-regarded kit maker who has begun selling assembled kits in finished cabinets.
  
  The link is to the assembled Bookshelf version of his 2-way.
  
  I have asked him to quote the same for the Tower option, with no upgrades such as boutique capacitors, which add to the bill very quickly.
  
  Dividing the US into Alaska, Hawaii, and north and south west, central, and east, where are you? Northeast? Southwest?

    They haven't offered Tower speakers as Assembled yet because the Tower will require a much bigger job of designing packing for safe shipping.
    
    The Bookshelf one weighs 35 pounds, so the Tower will be a lot more.
    
    I have asked them to get back to me, and I have given them an idea to expedite the design process.
