Hi Paul. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm going to use the 12AV7 in lieu of the 12AU7. I believe that has a gain of 41, which - if my calculations are right - in the circuit will produce a gain of 20.5; and a net gain of 19.5. Would that be a better choice in the amp?

Also, as mentioned a little earlier, this is an integrated amp - that is, I won't be using any other separate preamp.
