I'm curious what bassists think about the Hoffner violin bass. When I played guitar in a high school band, the bassist had one with a terrible neck that wouldn't play right and was always out of tune. If this is generally the case, I assume McCartney had his rebuilt.
Paul was always having troubles with the Hofner going out of tune. I think it just became a signature look of sorts.
