35 years ago, we'd go up to Twin Peaks. And of course, a common topic was music. And when it came to Tone-Loc's "Wild Thing," we, as rock music fans, recognized the Van Halen "Jamie's Cryin'" sample. Except that Jamie (above) was kind of so-so towards "Jamie's Cryin'."

In early 1989, we were all virgins, so "doin' the wild thing" was conceptual, not realistic. Thus, it was clean fun. Funny thing was, no one told us and you, that academically-strong girls like Jamie would be your future girlfriend and/or wife.
