I was afraid by the time I'd got there, you would have bought them all out already. You're not convinced? Can all those claims be lies, exaggerations? It was about 25 years ago that a small commune in Hollister California called "The University of the Trees" discovered and taught that by praying to small pyramids, you could keep in good health and keep your car tuned at the same time. Fortunately their secret never got out very far. If it had, Jiffy Lube, their competitors, and countless thousands of auto mechanics around America might have gone out of business, not to mention the doctors. Yes, just imagine all those poor starving doctors and their families had people learned the secret of staying healthy so easily. Buy "dem knobs."

My response to your somewhat sarcastic remark of (Buy "dem knobs.") can be seen by clicking on the link provided below. What I said there applies equally to this post as well!Thetubeguy1954

The same answer applied equally well to this post Soundmind. So I refered to what I just said instead of repeating myself. No I'm not in a loop, but sometimes what's been previously said is sufficient. I will indeed move on when you allow me to by asking something truely different and not something that has been answered and explained in a previous post.
Haven't heard it in years. One more defect cds have obsoleted.

Soundmind you did the same thing by repeating sarcastic remarks, it's clear case of the pot calling the kettle black.I believe you are above this level of posting Soundmind, why not return to debating this intelligently, you can disagree intelligently, without sarcasim...

There is nothing to return to because there isn't one scintilla of connection between these stupid wooden knobs and anything of intelligence in this universe. I don't know what's funnier, the knobs themselves or the people who actually want to discuss them. I've been laughing about it for nearly two hours straight now. Too bad they don't still have Johnny Carson on, I'll bet this could get a good laugh all across America.

That's the problem Soundmind. You want to focus on the wooden knobs and I'm trying to focus on "these sounds" Dieter refers to as something that should be investigated throughly by scientists and/or audio designers. It's POSSIBLE that in researching "these sounds" and trying to develop a way to measure them, that we MIGHT for the first time actually have a test that correlates what's been heard, with what's been measured. Of course it's POSSIBLE that it won't pan out either, but until it's throughly investigated we'll never know.
For the record if you had been reading my posts you would have known this was the direction and purpose of my posts. It was you who wanted to focus on the supposes stupidity of wooden knobs, not me.
There must be some of them left. In January 1982, they had about a week of rain and there were enormous mudslides everywhere up there (in dem dar hills.) Houses and people were getting burried in them. Even if the University of the Trees isn't in business anymore, I'll bet you could excavate for them like an archeologist prospecting for artifacts. I'll bet there's still magic in them."It's POSSIBLE that in researching "these sounds" and trying to develop a way to measure them, that we MIGHT for the first time actually have a test that correlates what's been heard, with what's been measured"
Soundmind you are digressing from being what I had previously considered to be a civil Objectivist, to what's now coming across as arrogant.Your response of "That's already been done. It's called frequency response." to my statement that "It's POSSIBLE that in researching "these sounds" and trying to develop a way to measure them, that we MIGHT for the first time actually have a test that correlates what's been heard, with what's been measured" is jut plain ludicrous!
"These sounds" or musicality have little to do with frequency response. If it did one would be able to make a non-musical system musical with the simple addition of an equalizer. Yet in all my 40 years in this hobby no one has EVER equalized musicality into a system that lacked it in the first place.

I can't help it if I can't take these wooden knobs seriously. It's not my fault. I'm just in too funny a mood today to take much of anything seriously and this is too far beyond the pale. Still can't stop laughing.Have I tried praying to the little pyramids yet? I'm saving that for an emergency. If it comes to that and it fails, then I'll consider the knobs.
