Not to take away from the other responders, but damn, what a response!

I never thought about the Touch having to "buffer" (for lack of a better term) as it's playing, or being used to search the library.

There are obstacles associated with moving the old computer to the garage, but it is a viable option. Can you drop some names of the SB-like software you mentioned? Computer is running XP w/a 933MHz processor. 1GB of RAM if memory serves me [no pun intended :)].
