I've been considering buying one of these for recording and it claims to support 24/176 and 24/192 playback and record on a PC but not on a MAC. Since I haven't sprung for one yet so I have no idea how good a job it does. The 0404 has found quite a bit of acceptance but I'm sure neither is the ultimate. But then again, neither is the price.

I have one. It sounds excellent to me. I don't have other "modern" DACs to compare to though. I'd be surprised if there were large differences after careful level-matching.
