Whats wrong with an internal HD? Or Wireless , I get fantastic results with my slim devices/logitech Squeezebox and transporter.
Not running anti virus software these days if you on a bloze system is just sheer stupidity
I run my transporter into a set of meridian actives , the same unit into a tact and ATC scm 50a's and analog outs into a valve headphone amp with sennheiser hd650's
I tun my squeezebox 's digital out into another set of Meridian DSP speakers , both sound wonderful from a puter that is loaded with all manner of programs , runs anti virus , has an internet connection etc (but isnt in the same room as the systems) and it streams wirelless to both the SB and TP simultaneously.

"Not running anti virus software these days if you on a bloze system is just sheer stupidity"I have four Windows PC's connected to the internet full time and do not run anti-virus. And I am not stupid.
Edit: Before anybody reads this and tries to do the same, I have two firewalls, a proxy server, a popup and ad server crusher, and site restriction software.
