Just got wifey a 10 core 24 GB RAM M4 IMac. This should make photoshop and Lightroom rock on her 42 megapixel RAW files. It's wrapped and still in the ox waiting for her B-day.

My wife has a 2017 21" iMac with spinning HDD inside which is pretty old by modern computing standards. I wanted her to get a new one but she's perfectly happy with what she has for Word, Excel, and the Web.
I upgraded her old iMac long ago with an external SSD which makes the entire user experience noticeably faster but it's no M4.

The iMac internal spinning HDD has been relegated to Time Machine backups

I really like the iMac's. Fabulous monitor. I would have bought one instead of the MB Pro, but I have a little table and the screen was just too big. They used to make a smaller one, 21", I think. the current ones just wouldn't fit. I'm sure she'll love it.
