A quick scan of he HDTracks site tells us this is a totally remastered version. So we are left wondering if it's the remastering or the higher bit and sampling rate that makes the difference (or both). I think the best comparison would be to listen to a 16/44 version of the remasterd recording compared to the 24/96 version.Kerkula

I agree that there are too many variables to say why this version sounds better including the possibility (probability?) that his CD and this version came from different tapes, but it would be easy enough to convert the 24/96 to 16/44.1 and see how much of this improvement was preserved.
