  My entire experiment is suspect. Tony wanted me to load a file into memory and disconnect the drive. I really don't know what I proved if anything.
  
  And yes, for normal use ( the way I like to play music), the Thunderbolt drive does sound the best on my rig.

    You mean sounds best as compared to another type of drive...subjective impressions are valid.
    
    So it appears that the T'Bolt sounds just as good as having no drive.
    
    I don't think you proved anything either, just an exercise in futility.
