I'm late to the party, but I reading good things about the PSVane CV181-Mk ii as an alternative to old 6SN7s. Grant Fidelity stopped carrying them, and carries LinLai instead.
A few questions:
1) Are these a good replacement for 6SN7GTA in AtmSphere maps?
2) If so, which position best uses these relatively expensive tubes?
3). How do they compare to stock (Sino?) tubes?
Follow Ups:
We get good feedback on most of the boutique brands. But in the special case of the Sophia, we've yet to find one installed in the field that was good when we got it in the shop. All of them so far were only 6 months old (according to the owners of the gear) which leads me to think that they have a short life problem. We've not got any feedback like that on the other boutique types so far.
To my knowledge all of the boutique tubes have a GT spec. The Shuagang tubes (no longer made; the factory burned two years ago) are marked 'GT' but were actually GTBs. The same goes for the Russian made 6SN7s (I would only use those in a pinch; they should be tested especially for leakage).
My single experience echos your findings. As suggested, my short experience (approx 6 Mos of minimal use) with Psvane 101D's in a Lampizator DAC resulted in a premature tube failure. That's never well received. But with the price of those bad boys, their failure was even more painful. Which I considered a lesson learned & - - with my wallet's concurrence - - never to be repeated. Fortunately or just lucky, I never had NOS British or American tubes fail that early. Besides all were less costly.

I tried all the tube variants (PSVANE, Sophia, you name it) All a waste of time and money...Just get your tubes from Ralph...They test better and sound better and last a very long time..
