The video had a bikini clad girl to maker up for the lack of bikini clad girl pics in the post. The song was a little "pop" for me. But it got me thinking of this one.

In some of my product reviews, this story has been told. When the Spring 1990 quarter was coming to an end, my friend and classmate, Kim, left me her home phone number. She told me that, before I was to move back for the Fall 1990 quarter, to call her at home. I obliged, and it turned out that both of us would be living in dorms (but in different residential colleges).Upon move-in, Kim and I got together. Shortly thereafter, she flagged down her girlfriends: Ngoc, Pauline, Quyen, and Tuyet. I had just come back from Honolulu, but had left my swimwear there. The ones I had in CA were old and ugly. So I said I was going to go into Santa Cruz, and shop for swimwear. All 5 girls followed me. I tried on various board shorts and trunks, looked terrible in most.
It turned out that the girls were dying to hit the beaches, but, like me, had ill-fitting swimwear. Because my family was from Hawaii, I knew more about bikinis, than Kim and her friends did. We did a bikini haul. Each of the girls had different body type. As the girls tried on different models, colors, sizes, styles - it hit me. Ideally, audio cables should have as little sound of their own, as possible. But in the real world, the cables were far from accurate. That being the case, like finding the right bikini, we audiophiles needed to find the right cables.
As we got deeper into college, I would bring audio products down to Santa Cruz. Kim and Tuyet ended up spending many many hours with me, listening to music, evaluating the audio products. It was Tuyet, who pushed me over the edge, pulled out the "stop being a pussy" card, and got me to order an AudioQuest Lapis. Said AQ Lapis became the product audiophiles would reach out the most to me about.
Anyway, ten years ago, while working at the public high school, Sharyn Maceren appeal to both our millennial teachers and Gen Z students. Maceren had a slow song, "He."

Santa Cruz's beaches, and for good reason, tend to get the attention.
But Joy Williams lived 8 miles north of the main beach, in the hills of Felton. And then, she actually went to high school in San Jose.
Between UCSC and Felton is Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. The San Lorenzo River (more like a stream) flows through the park, kind of parallel to State Route 9. Back in college, we liked to hike along, and go into, the river. Actually, lots of Joy Williams' music feels right at home, when you go into those woods.
I was unaware, that Joy Williams has won 4 Grammies.
