I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "seminal in the ELP/Deep Purple era/style". But some of my favorite keyboardists in that style include:

Kerry Minnear
Dave Stewart (that is, Canterbury Dave, not Eurythmics Dave)
Francis Monkman
Robin Lumley
Richard Harvey (when he wasn't playing recorder or krumhorn)

And I suppose we have to mention Tony Banks.
