This green one in the dining room may actually be the one he burned the manuscripts it.
These tile covered stoves are fairly common to this day in Sweden and Finland. Friend of mine in Sweden lives in an old farm house and they still heat with wood and have a couple in various places in the house.

Love Sweden, was there in '86 IIRC. Part of a trip to Russia and Poland.
....had no idea the dry saunas were unisex. (!)
I wonder what the liquor cabinet in the study looks like. I'll bet it was a pip. Pardon the bad taste, I couldn't resist.
