So I'm listening to the FLAC 24/48 plus I get 16/44.1 WAV and MP3 downloads as well.
1 Gig total and a month to figure out where to put it all on my laptop.
I actually LIKE this particular version and still intend to get all four as SACD.
Then I can compare SACD, Lossless FLAC 16/44.1 Streaming, MP3, 24/49 FLAC and CD
Follow Ups:
It contains more obscure stuff and my favourite Holberg Suite is on it.
I'd say the Symphonic Dances seem much better recorded and played both on the LP and on the 24/48 download.
So should I buy the #2 LP and hope for a free download as well?
Nah, I think I'll just spring for the SACDs.

It also minimise a possible production glitch on a vinyl.
And certainly cheaper than a vinyl.
$18.17 plus tax and media mail shipping and it included a 24/48 FLAC download.

18$ plus 4$ shipping isn't bad but still SACD is 13 bucks at Amazon. digital is much cheaper than vinyl.
successfully downloaded the MP-3 and 16/44.1 wave file and they say all of my attempts are used up and you only get 5.
Why people mess with downloading file I have no idea.
Just a royal pain IMNSHO.

I've no patience when it comes to computer/internet glitch...
Why not just stream it?
Is it a bandwidth issue?
You know, LP vs. CD vs. SACD vs. OOBUZ stream vs HiRez download vs. whatever.
I have the LP and have streamed it on QOBUZ and originally intended to purchase the SACD when I first steamed it and....
Why?
AUDIOPHILE!

:/
I seem to recognize his picture from somewhere.

Better the performance, crappier the fidelity. that's how it works with Richter.
But I keep searching in vein that elusive better sounding pressing amongst the pile of poo...
I finally got a quiet acceptable Live in Sofia LP after going through half a dozen.

He did a series of recordings for Phillips that were done on pretty modern equipment. They are rare studio recordings. Excellent sound

This Schubert sonata live recording is just excellent in both performance and sound.

Liszt Piano Concertos, or Shosty's Preludes and Fugues are ok, too but I noticed the sound quality is not always consistent.

These Beethoven sonata pieces go right back to the cave man era recording.

Later, JVC Japan captured a few live performances in wonderful early digital! ( they sound more natural than dreadful DG's 90s 4D recording ) With its ultra low noise floor, it is hard to believe this is a live performance ( IIRC, well behaved Japanese audience ). Realistic tonal colour and ambiance. If only this was possible for his earlier Eastern European tours 30 years prior...

Most if not all were collected after I got seriously into the hobby say 15 years or so ago, and most were purchased used. As a result, my music collection is more focused by recording quality than music/musician quality, so to speak.
That, plus what was available in the classical music bins at Randy's Records in Salt Lake City! ;-)
I can say with certainty that SOMEONE living in the area of Salt Lake City was a Lazar Berman fan 'cause I ended up with a load of his LP's, all purchased at Randy's!

Not as prickly as Richter but his presence is felt from the very first note casting a large burly projection. Excellent clarity and determination with warm fleshed out notes. One of the most masculine breathtaking rendition of this piece but not the most inward searching. This mid 70s pressing has a high tape hiss noise but clear piano tone and absence of break up or distortion. Decent frequency extensions and bass dynamics for Columbia pressing.

I've a few more of his records but haven't listened to them yet.
Thank you for sharing your record store story.
Here's one of my vinyl store I frequent, Dave's Records in Chicago. ( he usually does not talk as much)
I purchased a few audiophile grade classical music but they soon were gathering dust until one day I got the Toscanini's Beethoven Symphonies box set at a local resale store for 60 cents. I ended up listening to the whole cycle in one evening in spite their poor fidelity.
The greatest classical pianist of the 20th century. I have over 100 of his cds. Died in 1997 in Moscow.
