And when that happens I will open up the floodgates.
But, in the meantime, hold tight for the release of my old friend David Deveau's first solo piano recording in 20 years, on Steinway Recordings (blah blah blah, they pay the lease on my Maserati Ghibli).

better be good.
nt
because it's been around a few times previously, but since there's so
few replies, here goes.
I like - nay, love - classical guitar, so I think I'd take as many of the
Naxos solo guitar recordings with me as I could.
As for non-classical guitar, there's always recordings by Tony Rice, Dan
Crary, Doc Watson, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Les Paul, George Barnes,
and a few others that'd have to go with me.
And we can't forget Count Basie and Woody Herman's First Herd.
And that's only the barest of starters.
I just bought the "Intimate Ella" and "Pure Ella" after recommendations here. I had never heard of them and they would now be in my suitcase for my desert island.
And on the subject of Ella, there's always the Cole Porter Songbook ...
as well as the Armstrong sessions.
I really like Ambrose Akinmusire's record from last year, a little long but otherwise a really great recent record.

2nd, Dave.
This is always a fun question. I like to take a LOT of discs with me to my imaginary desert islands, so I'm still thinking! ;-)
Not desert island but enjoying Polish jazz, as in previous thread.
I have a Youtube playlist with Michal Tokaj, Marcin Wasilewski, Leszek Mozdzer and Anna Maria Jopek. All good.
every country produces some great music!!!
I think he is visiting Poland.
