We had a big discussion about this a couple of years ago. I still say if what I hear at their "live" concerts is manipulated by some kind of virtual sonic reality system, then the heck with them!

At the same time, I'm tempted to drive a couple of hours for their concert at Sonoma State. I wish I could be assured that the VPO concert there would not be subject to the same kind of sonic shenanigans which now seem to be a regular feature of concerts at Zellerbach in Berkeley.

I've played at both Zell and Green.
Zell is Dead Dead Dead. Very Dry onstage, no feeling that the sound is projecting.
Green is very Live, and not esp big. Loud Orch Music could be overwhelming there.
Completely different look than Davies, too. Different smell sometimes too!
