I just received an email about a one-day sale at Arkivmusic.com. If there ever were 50 classical CDs that filled the bill for "Something for Everyone," this sale is that.

Three examples: Simon & Garfunkle transcribed for harp and violin; Elgar's Symphonies; Bjoerling at Carnegie Hall. The Bjoerling is $5.99.

My label JMR has a contract with Arkivmusic and I write for their classical music lifestyl magazine LISTEN, but I get nothing for letting people know about this, and my CDs are not included in the sale.

great prices. The Haydn sonatas, the Karajan set, and the Beethoven String Quartets are good deals.
The Jeno Jando Haydn piano works is a wonderful set. Is there a more neglected body of - tinear 08:17:49 12/15/11 (1)
beautiful and powerful piano pieces? Jando's interpretations are criminally under-appreciated: he has understanding, feeling, and power in perfect balance.
