The Mackerras did it for me, and if a need for more up to date sonics is what the OP is looking for, that would be a good choice.

I also like Maag in Mozart, and unlike many I may slightly prefer his later cycle with the italian orchestra in the Jupiter.

And then there are the old classics: love Beacham in this music.

I listened to that one all through High School. I don't remember if I heard the Walter, although I would expect it to be very good based on his 38 and 40 with the Columbia which I have on SACD. I will have to review the MacKerras on Linn. I've heard their #40 and IMO Walter is far superior in that one--not the sound, of course.
