anybody know why quad 57 panels last longer than quad 63 panels?

The construction is very different. The primary problem with 63 panels is the edges of the stators unglue which leads to arcing. The glue is polyurethane and breaks down with age, accelerated by by high voltage ozone.

Yes, and almost NO plastic parts in the '57s
and the structure of the stators in the '63s are plastic.
Plastic has a shelflife....
