Yeah that's kinda krazy, I will be spending half the show just chasing down Magnepan's, and yes I will be present all three days.
Magnepan the company will be in rooms 386 & 542, with 2.7i's in one room and 2.7X's in another
VPE Electrodynamics (add on open baffle woofers) & Magna Riser's room 502
Glen Poor's Audio Video room 364
Bob Carver room 1643 will have LRS+ demoing with his latest tube amps.
Follow Ups:
Did anyone get to hear the Danville Signal room with the Magnepan 1.7i passive vs dspNexus DSP crossover AB demo?
What are your thoughts?
Better Living Through Audio Nirvana
The Danville Signal room that was one of the first rooms I went too. I heard the whole run down on what the system did and how it worked. The first song I heard was kinda slow, with not a lot of dynamics, the next song I thought really showed off the difference's.
With the DSP engaged dynamics were better, midrange seemed much cleaner and clear. The treble seemed rather rolled off on the passive version too. Now if you ask me was it worth $4k, I would have to have more listening time put in.
I appreciate that they had some type of corner bass traps, from floor to ceiling. And yes I said hi Al, from the Planer Asylum forum.
Also I heard those Maggie's were a custom made version modified to Danville Signal's spec's. As to what was changed I cannot remember, so sorry about that.
Next was the VPE Electrodynamic's using a Magnepan LRS+, with their Little Dipole Woofer Model 1 DSP. The room could have definitely used some room treatment, especially with the room curtains open to all that glass. Otherwise everything else sounded very good, the LRS+ blended nicely with their woofer and it was a pleasing sound.
The Bob Carver room was also running LRS+, a trend since 2023 has been more affordable speakers at lower price points, which why lots of rooms were LRS+.
Like all the rooms I heard Maggie's, Sunday was the best day as the dealer's have had a chance to dial in the room acoustics as best the can. The Carver is great example of this as on Sunday, they had placed the LRS+
stock stands on some of drawers found in the hotel itself. Raising the speaker to aprox. 8-10" off the floor, and making the soundstage really open up and improving the sound overall.
This was the best sounding LRS+ by far in my opinion, at least on Sunday it was.
On a sad note Bob Carver is now out of business.

Interesting about the Magnepans on some risers. I've had my .7s raise up on a couple of risers while I made sure that my dog had no desire to mark it as his own. I've never taken them down since they sound so good on them.
Magnepan's what?
Sorry.
The LRS+ was putting $100K systems in other rooms to shame, in multiple rooms.
The company ("VRE"?) selling a bolt-on DSP sub for the LRS, running them with an ancient Pass Aleph, had to-die-for sound. So did another room running them with a Rotel integrated.
Say "Hi" to Al Clark
Ok will do
Opps, I forgot one more Danville Signal in room 356. With active and passive presentations via Magnepan 1.7i's.

I believe too few people have heard them, for a meaningful discussion. But that's just my opinion, hopefully after AXPONA that will change.
Room was small. They sounded great.
