I would not read too much into this lack of response.

There is no long established presence, no cult following and little presence on the show circuit. Reviews in English are pretty much confined to Olsher's piece on the predecessor model (and company) and Wally's good word.

If you can point to alternative reviews that might spark some discussion. Besides that, most of us have speakers we already like, mostly planar magnetic. Note that ML stats don't get that much discussion here either.. And the latter are iconic and the CLS has its own Johnstown like cult.

  I noted the same sort of response...seems very quiet here since Peter Gunn left. Now there is another other (sponsored?) forum for Maggies. Our forum here has always been pretty much Maggie-centric, due to it being an outgrowth of the MUG. And ML have a (sponsored) forum elsewhere also.
  
  The Essence: I was surprised when I found out that the person who used to market JansZen speakers (briefly), Bob Rappaport (sp?), was the same person who is listed as the importer/dist. for the Essence. I would like to hear the Essence, even though I have modded MG1.6s and JansZens to listen to. Not much market presence in these here States.

    There was nothing like PG and the tyu to spark discord and drama. It caused an exodus of the more civilized folks, but kicking out the repeat offenders took the spark out of the forum.
    But the main thing is that there were other things for people to do over the last few years in the digital domain where digital processing, downloads, DSD and streaming services have kept people's attention rather than tweaking or upgrading speakers.
    
    I like the Essence design as it actually has a tweeter like a 2 way - like the King sound.speakers. but uses new materials for ESLs and does them in reverse - with the signal applied to the thickish membrane and the bias is on the stators. .
