I am interested in a broken set of Magnepan but I am not able to pick them up from the seller.
Asked the seller to get some boxes from Magnepan and ship them to the factory for a rebuild for me, but the seller did not like to spend any time on it.
Anyone out there willing to do this for me? Of course, I pay for it!

I don't get it.....what was the seller going to do? hammer the panels into a box and put a stamp on it?
If he was going to properly box and ship, what the heck does he care WHERE they go?
I think you're ok without that guy and his broken panels.......
All above is not-operational if YOU could have picked 'em up and shipped them yourself......which I doubt, seeing as you probably commute to work on a bobsled.......OK, x-country skis.
Like your motorcycles, too.
cheers and hope you find someone to work with you on getting some panels shipped.....properly.
Too much is never enough
I have been informed that the brooken Tympanis mentioned above are very expensive to rebuild by Magnepan, $500 per driver! A lot more than later Tympanis that use to be from $200 per driver.
I live 90 miles east of Chicago, in South Bend IN. So I might be able to if no one closer can.
How about these IV-A models, reworked by Magnepan back in 2000 at 4k rather pricey but they are fully functional.
As the brooken Tympani Bass Speakers are very expensive to rebuild by Magnepan, they are no longer of interest.
The IVa Audiogon are too expensive. Could have bought a pair last year. They were rebuilt by Magnepan in 2005 or so. Seller wanted $2450.
Um, That was me selling those Tympanis. First of all they were the original Tympanis, which had the annoying 1'x 1" wooden "beams" across the panels (3 of them), and I was quite sure Magnepan would not touch them. In the end someone came by and bought them...
Anyway, I have a set of the Id's I am about to rewire, and just finished rewiring a set of IVas. New sock are supposed to arrive any day from Magnepan - $200 shipped for just the socks..
Currently have the naked, rewired Tympani IVa bass panels up with a set of ML CLS...very nice...wanna play a little with this setup a little more...
You have both I-D and IVa... Not for sale?
Hello Roger,
The IVa are definitely not for sale - I sold a pair a year ago and regretted it, so now found another pair that needed rewire....these will never leave my possession again.
The Id I am rewiring and they will be up for sale as soon as I am done...where are you again?
