Dr, I am suspecting that the Damplifier and the Cascade are the same stuff, or nearly so.
I was curious, after listening to my MMGs with the Cascade on Sunday, that Accurus' description and appraisal of using Damplifier (just for the Mylar side) was not far from my first impressions.
So, I checked. They are the same thickness. I got my Cascade for a great price (not PE, Amazon) but the Damplifier is cheaper still!
I am a little behind schedule in my testing (see notes elsewhere) but it is looking good.

Hey J,
I think there are different versions. The one I saw WAS thicker than the cascade product but I bet there is one that is similar and hence cheaper.
Though more expensive, I like the cascade better than the dynamat extreme in that for the pole pieces it is easier to cut and the adhesive is better behaved, and the cut edges are not as sharp as on the dynamat. Seriously given the price of the speakers and the huge increase in performance, I can spare a $20 bill or so...and Parts express purchases benefit the asylum if you use the link.
Though I will say that it probably doesnt matter much what is used as they are all pretty much the same thing.
And I will write up my final recipe which is a bit more than the cascade. Once you get a handle on the sound of the cascade, maybe you can add the other materials and see if they help.
