I am planning on getting more power at some point, I just don't know when. My impression of planars also is that you most certainly can get them running without a powerhouse of an amp, but that they of course - like most other speakers - like some juice :-)
Follow Ups:
You say eventually you'll look into more power. A suggestion for when you do. Consider bi-amping. Keep your present amp for the tweeters and use something more muscular for the woofers. Others here are set up that way and enjoy it.
Hmm... I was under the impression that Maggies are single-wired - don't know why. Yes, that would indeed be a good solution to the power-issue.
I have the MMGs (saving for side speakers one day), IIb's (bedroom), 1.6s (rears), and 3.3s (main). The 3 series needs a lot more power than the 1.6s. I tend to like the old IIb's more than the 1.6s, but they would not go as loud I expect.
