By late August, even a 90 degree day doesn't feel as hot as 90 degrees does in July.

...which is why it doesn't feel as hot.
It's always been that way, has nothing to do with global warming.
But it's 90 out side again today. Day 16 or 17 depending on who's keeping track. That's a lot of hot days for this area.

Odd, I always recall August being hottest.
But our hottest day recorded? June 29th, 2021; 114F in June.
We had several days over 100 degrees, which is truly unusual for Pittsburgh.
So far this year, we've had either 14 or 15 days of 90 or above, the average is 3.
We had a few really nasty summers in a row during the 1990s. The year Chicago had something like 500 heat deaths, it was really miserable here that year, too. Our house didn't have AC, barely any airflow through open windows, and an Western exposure. It was hard to sleep at night.
I can't even imagine what it's like in Phoenix AZ this year. According to what I've read, the night time lows are in the 90s.
