Yay!
I worked for our local light rail system (CA) for nine years and at every "communication meeting" the CEO would speak about how our electric trains provided "zero emissions" transportation to the region and how proud we should all be.
The reality was that once temperatures reached the lower eighties the nearby natural gas peaker plant would fire up (I always checked when driving by) to provide our electric trains with power.
I often thought a $400,000+ salaried public transportation CEO should know that but it's the same with unqualified people pushing bans on natural gas.
CA has nearly 80 peaker plants and there's over a thousand nation wide, and yet the same people who would ban natural gas would vote against nuclear.
Follow Ups:
logic and reason don't play any role in those decisions. ;)
Bingo!
It's what plays on the news and facts are secondary....
PERFECT case in point? California is working on the High Speed Train to nowhere.....which is so far over budget as to eventually allow the purchase of a new car for every rider.......
Too much is never enough
Perfect case of 'Isn't our population too high already?' Too much is never enough. The High Speed Rail is the technology of our future, but will that future ever come?
