What you pay for and get rarely match what you want, and I think they plan it that way.
Both our current rides have aftermarket leather (Katzkin?).
First the 2011 Prius purchased new and also our 2017 Nissan Leaf purchased from a private party about 1 1/2 years ago which the prior owner opted for with the entry level Leaf.
Both are mid to lower level trim cars which means no power seats and, in the case of the Leaf, regular electric heater and not the up-market heat pump which saves a lot of juice in winter. Also minimal rear view camera on the Leaf (only in reverse) and none on the Prius.
I could care less about 'car audio', and about the only feature I'd pay a lot extra for would be electric drivers seat with memory as the wife and I are polar opposites in dimensions.
On the plus side, maybe never have to shop for a new car again. If I had to would likely replace both our current rides with a new Prius Prime plug-in that would get us into town and back on a charge, replacing the Leaf, and anywhere else we want to go, replacing our current Prius.

Follow Ups:
Mazda CX-5 has 8 levels....the top 2 of which are turbo.
You can get to the Power Seat with 2X memories at the Preferred level.....
NOBODY at the dealer can tell you all the differences. but I DO know that the Preferred has 17" wheels. And Leather
If you want the 'bigger' wheel? Go UP one to the Carbon Edition.
Certain colors are reserved and Rhodium White or whatever.....is about a 500$ pop.....
Prefered also has power moonroof. And a homelink Mirror....(WTF?)
Too much is never enough
It might not be wise to go against the market, if resale value is a concern. I only mention this because my brother got a conventional two door pick up, instead of the more popular extended cab F150 pickup.
when he was considering getting something else, he said nobody really wanted a two door, the trade in value had been stomped out by the very in demand extended cabs, so he decided to keep driving the same truck until the financials of ditching it were more favorable.
So the frills that don't meet you needs today might help to sell the thing later own. It might not help much, but as you know, you can get a better price on what the dealer is paying to keep on the lot than something you have to order, because the competition for salesis different.
Either DIY or professionally installed? Or did they come that way when purchased?
our recently purchased used Accord has cloth seats, and my wife really dislikes them. Wanting to put leather covers on the front seats, Katzkin looks like it's very good, but looks pretty pricey
Back for a bit again. Ignore me if you like.
I put them in my Miata. Really nice and a lot less than Katzin.
Gsquared
installed by after-market dealers, at least that was the case with the Prius which we had done a few days after purchase (no dealer involved).
Includes matching door panels, etc. About $2K depending on grade? Maybe more these days? Have no idea on the Leaf as the original owner had the interior done in leather (seating area only, the rest is synthetic).
Nice upgrade.

'nice upgrade' is the kind of feedback I was looking for. Will probably only do the front seats.
Back for a bit again. Ignore me if you like.
