It's not decadence and debauchery, it's the things we take for granted in every day life and the things we've been conditioned to think we need as a result of decades of psychological programming disguised as advertising.
But, you're right--world leaders getting together and signing pledges is good optics, other than that...
The kinds of changes it'll take to stop global warming can't be forced on us from the top down either, so I don't blame Boris Johnson and Joe Biden.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
