I owned that wide version. It was relatively easy to assemble and looked good, but had a couple issues:
#1: Not all of the CD/DVD/BluRay packaging will fit on the lower shelves. Especially the specialized box sets.
#2: It was relatively easy while placing on the shelves to "miss" the bar at the back of each shelf, in which case the jewel case or box would fall through to the floor, often at the wall (presumably) against which the rack was positioned, making it a real pain to retrieve. And since the whole thing was a big dust collector it happened often when cleaning.
I sold mine prior to relocating, and I don't think I would buy again.
There must be something wrong with me for not having something wrong.

Yah. I could see that falling through could be a pain.
I have similar wooden ones, but they have a slider that at least keeps the cds tight. I suppose you could make a slider for the plexi version. But now you're talking DIY labour, money and who knows how it would turn out.
