Rain blocks C Band at 2-5 GHz. The wavelength is about the diameter of a raindrop. Besides I think the system sounds best for sunny high pressure days and worst for rainy low pressure days.

Sorry I should have said 11ghz. I looked up rain fade and thats the frequency that was listed.

OK, no problem. You were only off by a factor of 1000. Obviously you are constantly bombarded by ku Band satellite and C Band satellite signals. Not much you can do about it other than RF countermeasures. Carbon fiber sleeves and carbon fiber cloth helps.
