Seems like an open baffle would be wasting the 30w. OB's are not known for their low bass. A sealed box or a ducted port will let the 30w do it's thing properly.

Exactly. A large sealed box is what EV recommended-- at least 50, and up to 300 cubic feet. Somewhat of an "infinite baffle". This is an ideal situation where the front wave NEVER meets the back wave.

An open baffle is NOT IDEAL. It's a situation where the front wave will darn sure meet the back wave and cancel.
