Scott,
I am in the planing stage of using a JBL 2226J, 2118J and Beyma CP385Nd.
Would you be so kind as to give me some advice and suggestions with the crossover design?
I am curious about your outcome when using the 2118J fullrange without a bandpass limiting the bottom frequencies?
I doubt that the 2118J would ever see over 10 watts in my use.
Do you have any distortion issues in the way that you use it fulrange?
Email me off line please nwwdlw at net zero dot net?
Sorry for the thread jacking
Thanks

Norris,
The 2118J in a closed box will be fine under 30watts. JBL ran them in the Caberets as woofers. A closed box will rolloff around 200hz. You might want to have a pair of chokes in the .2 to .4mh size range to voice the top end.
These have very low distortion and a nice detailed sound.
The 2226Hs will want a 3 to 7 mh choke and maybe a cap maybe biamping.
Scott
Thanks Scott,
I will start there with the values of chokes suggested. I will most likely biamp with a PP 6550 amp on the 2226J and SE 6550 on the 2118J.
