I think you're wrong about low bass in either Focal Clear headphone. I have seen sets of measurements on at least three different websites that show a lack of low end bass. I don't think any amp would fix that, although equalization might.

With respect, I find that observation strange when I report what I hear - but it is not to be believed because of other reports? Perhaps my earlier comment on treating reports with caution is relevant?
What can be more subjective than music? It reflects our personal tastes and preferences.
Reports vs. data, not vs. other reports. Objective measurement by several sources shows a dropoff of low bass in Focal Clears.
I find they have enough bass for my preference.
You are right about those reports and there is a suggestion that being open back does not help. That said I fully agree that the bass sounds satisfactorily good. There is no way headphones can induce the gut shaking of low frequencies a good sub-woofer will with organ music but of course there are many other advantages.
Bottom line is that achieving a genuine hi-end system with headphones is far easier and less expensive than a speaker system with its room resonance challenges.
