While I have a preference for over-the-ear headphones, I've been very pleased with the Hiby M300 DAP and a set of Fiio FH Eclipse IEMs. I have a micro SD card with over 5,000 tracks in the player so don't need cell service or wifi to play music, and the IEMs sound really good and are one of the most comfortable pair I've tried. Plus the combo takes up virtually no space in my carry-on luggage.
I've also tried the M300 with over-the-ear phones and it has adequate power for those to a moderate level, and can also do Bluetooth if you want to ditch the cable. There are certainly fancier and more powerful DAPs out there, but I've been very pleased with this one. I don't travel a bunch these days so can't see spending any more that what I've invested in this.

Thanks. I have been traveling a bit more than anticipated. I have some Bluetooth headphones, but my favorites don't have Bluetooth, so the FIIO Bluetooth adapter has been quite useful. I know some people like IEMs, but's not yet found ones that suit me. Glad to hear that your choices are working out well for you.
