Steve Guttenberg recommended these. To me they are shrill and have no bass. My cheap Panasonic 120 sound better.
Follow Ups:
I'm into cheap Chi-Fi IEMs and have the KZ (Knowledge Zenith) ZSTs, Symphonized NG-3s, Geek Wold 3s, ToneKing TS-1s and Final E3000s.
All but the E3000s ($45) have a V shaped sound and the cheap-Os are all pretty much a spastic's wet dream when it comes to frequency response.
Boosted bass, sucked out midrange and coked out highs before rolling off of a cliff at around 10kHz.
Final does a bit better job at things, but they do roll off sharply at/after 10kHz.
Still, for cheap Chi-Fi IEMs (designed in Japan/made in China,) they are more neutral. Look for the cheaper E2000s, as they're a bit smoother.

Can't expect much for $17.99
I do have a cheap pair of earbuds from Amazon that are well balanced with good bass and no shrill treble.
I also have a pair of KZ AS10 earbuds that sound great...if you love bass then KZ's are not for you, the AS10's are even handed but definitely not bass heavy.

It's hard to believe that both were bad though unless I was just plain cheated.Reviews said it had nearly overwhelming bass. From eBay seller.

I only have the AS10, listening to it I can't imagine KZ would make something so far away from their house sound. What I hear is crisp sound, not lush in the slightest nor bass heavy. I read reviews that called it bass heavy too, I just can't imagine that being true though.
My other earbuds are some cheap ones from Amazon the Senso brand. They are very easy to listen too, lush and unfatiguing...much much thicker sounding than the KZ, but still clear enough to enjoy.
FWIW, I can keep the Senso's on all day literally but the AS10's maybe for 3 hours or so....both very low volume levels.
