I use a Sansa Clip playing Rhapsody 192kb/s MP3 files and a pair of Shure SE-115 in-ear phones, the sound is quite nice.

Nothing to laugh at there, doing its job I am sure.

Some people think you must be able to perform critical music listening in all venues.

I find bus/plane rides to offer too much external noise, light, and distraction.

Of course just enjoying music can happen just about anywhere, with just about any gear.
